The Chester Beatty has a dedicated digitisation department ready to assist you with all your photographic needs.
The Chester Beatty has built up a large library of images of the collection over many years, from glass-plate negatives to high resolution digital files. We have worked with a number of specialised digitisation teams over the past 10 years which have greatly contributed to the documentation of the collection. Today, with the generous assistance of sponsors, the Chester Beatty has a dedicated digitisation team working to record the wonderful objects in the collection.
The Chester Beatty welcomes requests for high-resolution images from our Collection.
The Chester Beatty has thousands of digital images readily available for purchase. In addition our dedicated digitisation team can arrange for new photography where necessary. As the process of new digitisation can take several months, we ask that you submit your request as early as possible.
Reproduction fees are assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the proposed usage. When contacting us about an upcoming publication, for instance, please indicate if it is academic or commercial in nature, the language rights and territorial rights required, and the estimated print-run.
Copyright permission must be sought in advance for all publications that feature images from the Chester Beatty collection.
