An Introduction to the Everyday Life of a Buddhist Monk

Join former monk Sangthong Phensrisai and learn about a daily life of a Buddhist monk.This talk will guide you through the following questions: What is Buddhism? How do people become Buddhist monks? What do they study and practice? How can we benefit from their lives?
Free, no booking required, however places are limited.

Sangthong Phensrisai was born into a Buddhist family and according to Thai Buddhist culture he became a monk at the age of 20. He has adopted a Buddhist name Dhammacaro which means ‘a practitioner of the Buddha’s Dhamma (Buddha’s teachings)’. As a monk, he was trained under the Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand. He was a a Dhamma and meditation teacher both in Thailand and in the UK. In 2012, after 25 years as a Buddhist monk, Sangthong has enrolled in PhD programme at St Mary University
