Bloomsday Hats Live Workshop

Join us live to celebrate Bloomsday by constructing your very own ‘Boater Hat’. We will use cardboard, tape, and scissors to create Bloomsday hats! This is an activity for the whole family – you can help each other with the head measurements and pose for a family photo when your hats are complete! Once we all have the basic hat shape, we will customise it as inspired by the numerous hats in the Chester Beatty collection. For our younger viewers please ask an adult to help you with using any sharp instruments.

This live workshop will run between 1pm – 2pm.

Registration for this live workshop will open here soon.

Materials needed before you start the workshop:
cardboard (cereal box cardboard & a thicker cardboard) – as much as you can find!
masking tape
measuring tape

Optional materials:
toilet roll tubes
dark coloured material
scalpel (if old enough to use one)

Share your hat with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
