Online Music for Chinese New Year
This Chinese New Year, the Chester Beatty is delighted to invite young violinist, Daimee Ng, to celebrate the festival. Daimee performs Kreisler’s Tambourine Chinois and Tchaikovsky’s Waltz-Scherzo to highlight the day. She is accompanied by Peter Dains on piano. In association with Dublin Chinese Lunar New Year Festival.
Bio:
Daimee Ng (15), first started her studies in the Young European Strings School of Music under Maria Kelemen at the age of three. At a very young age, she was fascinated with music and begged her mother for a musical instrument. She was immediately taken by the violin and since then, music has become an integral part of her life.
Daimee is a prize-winner and finalist of several international competitions, a member of the the Young European Strings Chamber Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, enjoying both solo and chamber music work.
She now studies under Prof. Ronald Masin, artistic director of the Young European Strings School of Music. She plays the ‘Andrea Postacchini’ c.1848 which is generously loaned to her by the Music Instrument Fund of Ireland.
