Blended Learning – plans for a combination of online and onsite learning

3 March, 2021

Inspired by the Irish Museum Association’s Teachers’ Survey: museum engagement during and post-Covid 19 2020 report, the Chester Beatty’s Learning and Education Department is currently working with a number of educational partners to develop new online content for schools. This will provide resources for schools unable to make an onsite visit to the Chester Beatty in addition to access to pre-visit online resources

Our educational partners are Curiosity Studio and Heritec UK.

Curiosity Studio is an Irish-based organisation and specialises in the annual Festival of Curiosity which promotes/covers themes such as science, arts, design and technology. The studio will co-design a series of online videos with the Chester Beatty to explore science, technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM) inspired content for schools.

Heritec UK is a consultancy providing services to the heritage sector specifically around the areas of audience development, public engagement, training, research and evaluation. Heritec advises cultural bodies on strategies to engage audiences with and learn from museum collections, putting object-based learning at the core of its methodology. Facilitated online sessions for schools using objects from the collection are being developed in partnership with the Chester Beatty.
