Hinduism
Many of the works related to Hinduism in the Chester Beatty collection are illustrated manuscripts that present the teachings of the deities through the telling of epic tales. These include a number of works from northern India containing extracts of or scenes from the Mahabharata, an account of the wars of the house of Bharata composed between 500 BC and 100 AD.
