Jainism

Founded in the 6th century BC, Jainism is one of India’s three ancient religions, alongside Hinduism and Buddhism. The Chester Beatty collection includes a significant number of richly illuminated Jain manuscripts from the 15th and 16th centuries. The collection is particularly notable for several rare complete and dated works.
