Dublin Arabic Film Festival

The Breadwinner

As part of the Dublin Arabic Film Festival, the Chester Beatty is proud to present The Breadwinner. The director Nora Twomey will be present to introduce the story of a young girl who disguises herself as a boy in order to earn money to feed her family. Parvana is forced to grow up fast under Taliban controlled Afghanistan after her father is wrongly arrested. This is a striking and inspiring film beautifully animated by the creators of The Book of Kells.
